Welcome to Edina High School Media Center!
We work everyday to provide engaging learning experiences and opportunities for students in a variety of areas:
- Digital citizenship
- Literacy/literature appreciation
- Research and critical thinking skills
- Technology operation and accessibility
Our media specialists work to cultivate learning and meet individual needs to empower students to be passionate readers, informed researchers, critical thinkers, and responsible digital citizens.
Edina Public Schools is one of the only districts in the state of Minnesota to have a media specialist in every single school.
The mission of Edina High School's Library Media Center is to support the learning process by providing a wide range of resources that will give each student an opportunity to achieve academic success. We assist students, teachers, and staff in becoming effective users of information, foster a love of reading, and partner with teachers to teach information literacy skills.
There are over 9,400 books in the Library Media Center as well as a large collection of ebooks. Our physical space provides quiet study areas as well as group collaboration spots. Plus, there's a LEGO table! Our staff manages over 450 computers and over 700 Chromebooks throughout the building as well as classroom LCD projectors and a host of AV equipment. All materials are selected based on curriculum needs as well as on the recommendations of staff and students and professional review sources. The collection includes materials to meet the needs of all learners.
